A heavy duty telescopic slide carries hundreds or thousands of kilograms while extending out of its mounting, so the load acts on a long lever. What matters is not only the rated load, but how little the slide deflects at full extension, how it behaves under repeated dynamic loading and how long its raceways last.
FEDS heavy duty slides use solid drawn profiles, hardened running surfaces and precision ball cages. On our C45 steel models the raceways are laser-hardened to 55–62 HRC while the core keeps its toughness — the combination that lets a slide carry high loads for many cycles without wear or play.
Ratings are given per pair of slides, mounted horizontally on edge, at full extension. For side-mounted, bottom-mounted or dynamic applications, ask our engineers for a load and deflection calculation.
| Load class | Typical use | Extension types |
|---|---|---|
| up to 300 kg | Service drawers, cabinets, machine guards | Partial, full |
| 300 – 1,000 kg | Battery drawers, tool carts, equipment racks | Full, over-extension |
| 1,000 – 2,000 kg | Rail and vehicle systems, heavy trays | Full, over-extension, bidirectional |
| 2,000 – 3,000 kg | Extreme duty and custom OEM systems | Engineered to order |
Every load class is available in several extension types. Partial extension slides open to about 75 % of their closed length and are the stiffest option. Full extension slides open 100 % for complete access. Over-extension (super extension) slides reach around 150 % and more, and bidirectional slides extend to both sides of the cabinet.
Every catalogue slide comes with a free 3D STEP model — for many series one file per closed length — so you can place the exact part in your assembly. When the catalogue range is not enough, our engineers develop slides to your drawing, with load calculations, FEA and prototypes before serial production.
FEDS manufactures telescopic slides with load ratings up to 3,000 kg, and configurations that carry more than 2,000 kg per extended pair, depending on the product and installation conditions.
Openings up to 12,000 mm are possible as custom solutions. Standard catalogue slides cover the most common lengths, and profiles up to 3 m are machined in-house.
Load ratings are given per pair of slides, mounted on edge, at full extension. Mounting orientation and dynamic loads change the usable capacity — ask us for a calculation.
Yes. STEP files are free for registered users and can be downloaded from each product page or the CAD / STEP library.
Load, travel, installation space and environment — our engineers will recommend the right slide or design one for you.
